Our story
Six editions. A pause. A return.
Secret Solstice took place in Reykjavík every summer from 2014 to 2019, under the midnight sun. In summer 2027 it returns.
- 2014
The first edition
Secret Solstice launched in Laugardalur, Reykjavík, with Massive Attack alongside Icelandic artists. The city and Icelandic nature were part of the experience from day one.
- 2016
An international stage
Radiohead and Deftones played the third edition, which KEXP covered on site.
- 2019
Six editions, then a pause
The sixth festival, with Black Eyed Peas and Robert Plant among the headliners, closed the first run. Then came the pause.
- 2026
The team, back in the field
The team behind Secret Solstice produced Iceland Eclipse at Hellissandur beneath Snæfellsjökull, 12–15 August 2026, around the first total solar eclipse over Iceland since 1954.
- 2027
The return
Secret Solstice returns, 23–25 July 2027. More soon.
